The Essentials 7 gifting lounge was open to celebs and media to preview new releases from brands like Smashbox Cosmetics, Vitamin Water, Saucony Canada and KMS California hair care.
I had the chance to get my hair done by KMS California stylist and loved the chic braid combined with easy-going waves. He started by adding some Hair Play texturizing spray, and curled my hair with a curling iron. To get the side braid, he did a simple mini french braid. To set the style, he used Hair Stay maximum hold hair spray. This kept it flawless even in the humidity!

I can't believe it's the last day of summer! The weather certainly doesn't feel like it. To keep summer alive, I wanted to share one of my favourite outings this summer, when we visited Pickering Millenium Square for a relaxing beach day. I fell in love with the quaint village filled with independent cafes, art galleries and small businesses.
It was blazing hot so I wore a yellow floral romper from Hollister (similar romper here), marble sunglasses c/o Polette, a panama hat from Joe Fresh, tassle earrings from H&M, watch c/o Daniel Wellington and Koolchic espadrilles from Nine West for a colourful beach look.
Nudestix is a Canadian, cruelty-free beauty brand sold at Sephora. I got a chance to learn about their products at the grand opening of the Yonge and Eglinton Sephora, and sampled the Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color pencils. These eyeshadow pencils come in both matte and satin finishes, isn't tested on animals and is free of preservatives... all the things I look for in cosmetics! I wanted to share my thoughts in a Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color review.

These products are a traditional pencil, and glide on the skin smoothly. I didn't find it scratchy at all and it was very creamy! The pencils blended easily with my fingers and I found it was best to build up coverage to create the desired look.
I would definitely recommend using an eyeshadow primer, and also a matte powder shadow all over the eyelid to help create a blended look.
My favourite part about the product? I LOVE that it comes with a custom, dedicated sharpener. I've ruined too many gorgeous chubby pencils with crappy dull sharpeners that are too big or too small for the product. I can feel confident that I won't completely ruin these amazing pencils!
