Memorial Day White outfit

This weekend is Memorial Day in the US, which marks the unofficial start of summer weekends. While us Canadians celebrated Victoria Day last weekend, I always look forward to Memorial Day to celebrate the return of white into my wardrobe. While I don’t believe in the whole “no white after labour day” rule (there’s a closet full of white sweaters in protest), I do enjoy bringing back all-white looks into my wardrobe. I paired this pretty Darti dress from Club Monaco with the on-trend Birkenstock Mayari sandal in white for a cool Memorial Day white outfit. I couldn’t resist snapping pics near this stunning pergola of wisteria vines, the purple colour was the perfect compliment to an all-white look.

I originally was going to wear this all white dress with a pair of white converse sneakers or Keds, but I love the way the Birkenstock Mayari sandal adds a trendy element and makes the look less “country club” and more bohemian. White Birkenstocks continue to be a top summer shoe trend this year, and I love the way this pair hugs your feet and the thin straps are more dainty and feminine than a classic pair of Birks.

I didn’t want to be too matchy-matchy with a white bag, so I wore this vintage magazine clutch and my Daniel Wellington watch for neutral accessories.
