Little red dress…

A few weeks ago, I was so excited to come home after a month of school and living in Ottawa. It was also my birthday weekend and I was so happy to be back to celebrate with my friends, family and fur kids. For my birthday party, I wore this little red dress from The Free Island, a new e-boutique by Chantal Li, a fellow T.O. blogger from thefreeisland.com.

I’m wearing a little red dress c/o the Free Island, Jewelmint crystal collar necklace (similar Ann Taylor necklace), vintage quilted bucket bag, and my shoes are Vivienne Westwood for Melissa.

I love how this dress is made of neoprene, which is super smooth, comfortable and stretchy. The princess seams give the dress shape and I love the way the seams open up into a pleated full skirt. The high neckline is a favourite of mine, and it’s perfect to let a glittery statement necklace take centre stage.

After catching the Book of Mormon (the funniest play I’ve ever seen), I went for a walk down Queen West with my little sis to meet my boyfriend for Bang Bang ice cream sandwiches! They were amazing and the perfect way to indulge in the hot weather that weekend. I also had a chance to stop into the Fitzroy Boutique pop-up and check out some of their new Fall arrivals. You can shop their store online, but keep your eye out for new pop-up locations on the horizon! I was so happy to be in my favourite neighbourhood in Toronto to enjoy the good weather with my loved ones…

For dinner, my friends and I went to Momofuku. After a reservation fiasco, which ended up being for the best, we shared a huge punchbowl of fruity cognac.

Now, in the midst of midterms, I wish I could go back and enjoy another carefree weekend back home!
