After months of dealing with frizzy, summer hair, the cool and crisp fall air is a welcome change when it comes to taming your mane.
Here are some of the top fall 2013 hairstyles, inspired by the runway… you can also read this article on 29 Secrets.
Go punk
Touches of punk were seen at the Fendi fall 2013 runway show, where models wore tribal braids with fur mowhawks. Before you pin an animal (real or faux) on your head, you can easily recreate this look by teasing a pompadour at your crown and doing a tight high braid from the top of your head.
Go glam
There was a major return to glamorous large hair inspired by the 1930s. Seen on the fall 2013 runways of L’Wren Scott and Marc by Marc Jacobs, this look is great for people with medium or long hair. Simply set your hair in curls and brush them out. Finish with some hairspray or serum, and pin one side away from your face to get that romantic look.
Go straight
Seen on the runways of Chanel, to get this look, look no further than your straight iron. Make sure to condition strands and use a thermal protecting spray before you straighten your hair to get that skinny, sleek modern look.
Faux side bang
While the blunt Zooey Deschanel bang has ruled the trends for a couple years now, sideswept bangs are having a comeback. Models at Rag & Bone and Marni faked the look by sweeping strands of hair across the face… perfect for women with hair commitment issues.
The wet look
This look is a throwback to 90s grunge. Guido Palau at Prada sent models down the runway in piecey, wet strands. While you can’t exactly wear this look to the office, it’s a strong look for a night out or concert. You can get the look by using ton of hair oil, which will condition your strands at the same time!
Braids
Braids are once again here to stay. This time, they’re incorporated into other hairstyles like buns and half up-dos. The reverse french braid and bun at Bagdley Mischka is a stunning twist on the classic ballerina bun.
The Low Pony
Low ponytails popped up on a few runways, including Oscar de la Renta, Lanvin and Chloe. This style is super low maintenance and can be done in a variety of ways. Whether it’s sleek and deeply parted for a minimalist look, or intertwined with romantic mini braids, a low pony is your best friend when you skip a wash.
Sleek back
The top trend, without a doubt is the sleek back. Seen at Balmain and Etro, get the look by teasing the front and top of your hair and smoothing down the sides for that futuristic aesthetic. This hairstyle is popping up on the heads of red carpet starlets everywhere and is so flattering because it lifts the hair off your face while still framing your features. This look is a must do for your next night out!
