In the heat of July, I love escaping to my cottage. While I’ve been away in Europe for the past week, I’m excited to spend the rest of my weekends this summer in the North Kawarthas. Over the years, my cottage has changed… from renovations to new summer homes, but so has my idea of cottage style. I used to wear only denim cut-offs and t-shirts, but now, I can honestly say that the coolest way to relax on a dock is in a breezy maxi dress.
I love this one, which is c/o Nowistyle because of its muted nautical stripes. I paired it with an ombre straw fedora from Target (similar here), my Minnetonka suede sandals and my vintage Coach city bag.
My bag is so hardy and goes nearly everywhere with me! That night, we were celebrating my parent’s anniversary at a lakeside restaurant, Mirrors, on Paudash Lake. I know that purses and cottages don’t really go, but I’m happy I brought along my bag, because I got ID’d! As flattering (or embarassing) as that may be, a little leather crossbody is good to go anywhere, even the cottage.
I’m also wearing a faux Hermes collier de chien cuff that I bought at Ha-Choo gift store in Apsley. I love the teal colour and how it fits my wrist perfectly! I feel like it adds a bit of bad-ass polish (if that’s even possible!) to my look.
I love the rope belt detail… it definitely ties into the nautical theme and would be perfect for cruising along one of the many gorgeous lakes in this area!
