I admit it. I’m having bicycle withdrawl. For five months, my bicycle (he went by the name of Chuck) took me everywhere I needed to go in the medieval and modern town of Utrecht. Now that I’m back home in Toronto, I’m looking for the perfect Dutch bike to fill this void. But yesterday, I had a twinge of hope when I sat on Bobby Raffin‘s old cruiser- complete with wicker basket and back rack- perfect for having a friend hop on the back.
The dress I wore was patriotic, in shades of muted cream, red and blue. The dress is a vintage cotton that I always wear whenever the mercury climbs to unbearable temperatures. But hey, 40 degrees sure beats the rain of Holland.
Yesterday, I picked up this bicycle charm from Juicy Couture at Yorkdale. I fell in love with the quirky charm, and after finding out it was on sale, I knew I had to add it to a link in my bracelet. The pedals and wheels even move! I might not have a proper bicycle yet, but I definitely have the perfect charm to adorn and commemorate my time in the Netherlands.
My friend Bobby also looks perfect for the summer heat in a light blue polka dot shirt, white shorts and a straw fedora to keep cool.
My bag is my newest obsession. I fell in love with this rich cognac satchel when I found it in the Museum quarter in Amsterdam. It was on sale at Massimo Dutti (a fantastic brand from Spain, that is opening at Eaton Centre- GASP!) and I’ve fallen in love with its brass hardware and unfinished suede interior.
I love to pile on the arm candy when it comes to adorning my wrists. I’m wearing an oversized gold watch, freshwater pearls, a vintage gold bracelet from Italy and my Juicy charm bracelet with my new charm.
I might not be pedal pushing just yet, but I’m on the hunt for the perfect bike to match my bracelet.
