One of my favourite paintings is Botticelli’s Birth of Venus. It’s been the subject of a couple art history presentations to say the least, and I had the chance to see the large-scale masterpiece in person over a year ago in Florence. Now I can admire it in this silly sweatshirt. My sister even wore it to her art history midterm and got a chuckle from her TA. While I find it hard to style because it is the focus of any outfit, keeping the bottom simpler and neutral is a good way to go, or just throw it over plain denim.
I’m wearing a printed sweatshirt c/o SheInside, frilly chiffon skirt, tights c/o Silks and Steve Madden booties. The flower crown was made for me by Bobby Raffin. I love the cream roses and the way they add more whimsy to this sweatshirt. While I wouldn’t wear the crown on its own unless it’s a summer day or I’m at a festival, I incorporated into this look to bring in the theme of rebirth depicted in the painting.
Nice outfit, that sweater is quite funny. I wonder who invented paintings on sweaters.. 🙂

lol thank you Anna! It’s a fun trend, and I’ve been collecting my favourite paintings (The Kiss, Starry Night and Birth of Venus) printed onto clothing. I guess wearing art degrades it into pop culture, but I still enjoy wearing inspiring pictures on my clothing!
