Scalloped Shorts

One of my favourite items to wear in the summer are a pair of cute scalloped shorts. I fell madly in love with this pair of light blue scalloped shorts from Club Monaco, and was delighted to find them on sale. Working in an office was a change for me this summer, and I often don’t get a chance to wear shorts besides the weekend, so I was happy to wear this outfit out to dinner in the Queen West neighbourhood this week.

I’m wearing blue scalloped shorts from Club Monaco, a black chiffon top from H&M (similar chiffon top at Nordstrom), a bulldog bag, and leather gladiator sandals from Athens.

This outfit is casual but chic, and I love mixing basic black with a lighter pastel to soften the look. I originally wanted to wear these shorts with a white tee, but found that the chiffon blouse was more tailored and suited the dressiness of these shorts. For a weekend look, I’d love to wear these baby blue scalloped shorts with a flouncy crop top for a resort style outfit.

These Club Monaco Amber scalloped shorts feature a thick, embroidery fabric. I love that they’re not see-through and are the perfect short length!

My bulldog bag adds an adorable, quirky touch. I think having an eye catching accessory like this adds personality into an outfit, and lately, I’ve been coveting a new eccentric Kate Spade bag to add to my collection!
