This week I visited Ottawa to check out the law school and look for places to live. It’s been completely hectic, and having driven over 900 km in the past two days, my mom and I are exhausted. I didn’t have much time to sightsee or browse while in the Capital city, but I managed to go for a stroll along Parliament Hill on our way to dinner in Byward Market.
I’m wearing a khaki chiffon pleated dress from H&M (similar here), Dolce Vita Archer sandals, a Michael Kors Selma satchel and a statement necklace c/o Olsen Europe.

This dress was comfortable enough for the four hour drive from Toronto to Ottawa, yet elegant enough for dinner (and to make a good impression at the school). I love the contrasting black piping along the high neckline, so I drew attention to it with this gunmetal necklace featuring white and lavender opalescent stones. Olsen’s Fall 2014 collection is full of beautiful accessories, which they’re expanding more and more, and I’m excited to be sharing more soon.
After dinner, we checked out a cute bakery which was filled of colourful cookies and pastries. I wish I could have eaten one of those daisy cookies! The city was very quiet for a Thursday evening; I wish I had time to sneak in a tour of Parliament. When I go to school here in the fall, I’m definitely hoping to get in! After dinner, we watched Mosaika, a projection light show depicting Canada’s history and culture. I saw it a few years ago, but I definitely got a better view this time around.
After a full day of apartment hunting and over 15 units viewed and dismissed, it was nice to actually take in the city. It’s hard to envision myself here just yet, but the beautiful buildings and buzzing marketplace make it a very cool city I’m excited to explore.

I totally agree! It’s so much more flattering than beige, especially on fair skin tones 😀
