It’s true what they say… Walt Disney World is the happiest place on Earth. From meeting princesses in real life to strolling through Cinderella’s castle, I love experiencing the magic at Disney World. I also had to dress the part, as one of my favourites, Minnie Mouse.
I’m wearing a polka dot dress from Forever 21, Mickey Mouse print Keds sneakers, my Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC in black, a daisy bracelet from Forever 21, J. Crew pave bracelet, my newΒ Fossil Gerogia watch, and a cutesy scalloped collar necklace from Forever 21.
This outfit was comfortable to wear on a hot day, as the cotton was breathable and stretchy. I also opted for comfy flat sneakers and cute frilly socks to prevent any foot pain and blisters. My sister and I were at the park from 8 a.m. till midnight, and I was glad I didn’t make a mistake and wear stilettos like Gloria did on the best Modern Family episode where they all visit Disneyland.
Cinderella’s castle and the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse are at the heart of the park. My sister informed me that the castle is made completely out of concrete, including most of the ornamentation. It’s amazing what Disney magic can do. Every time I visit the castle, it still has the same effect on me, especially at night during the Wishes fireworks show, where dreams come true. The spectacular fireworks display is a great way to end your day at Disneyworld, or you can take advantage of shorter lines and ride more attractions.
One of my favourites is Dumbo’s Flight. It was recently upgraded, and they kept one of the original Disney World Dumbo rides, and added a duplicate to shorten wait times. Riding in Dumbo is magical, and a good way to get a view of the new Fantasyland.
Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight and of course, It’s a Small World are also my favourites in this park. Yes, I know… no coasters will ever make my list because medically, I’m not allowed to ride and the thought of anything involving either speed or height makes me panic.
Food can be the best part of an amusement park, and there is no shortage of delicious (and sometimes gluten-free) treats at Magic Kingdom. From Monster’s Inc. cake pops to Mickey Mouse candy apples, I opted for both the Mickey Mouse french macaron in lavender lemon and a chocolate covered rice krispy treat. Neither contained wheat and it fixed my sweet tooth. New to the Magic Kingdom this year is Starbucks! I was overjoyed to have delicious (and inexpensive) iced tea and coffee to give me bursts of energy through out the day. I also love the way they integrated it into Main St. USA, and how the baristas wear vintage uniforms. On my (trenta-sized) cup, they also scrawled Minnie Mouse, which truly made my day.
Main Street USA is always so colourful and romantic. I love the pastel-coloured buildings and hidden references to Walt’s hometown. As a kid, I always wanted a balloon, but I still can’t get over the $10+ price tag.
I was so happy this year, because I got to meet my favourite, Alice! I got off the Mad Tea Party ride and finally got to meet her. She complimented my dress and necklace and made silly faces at Rabbit who was too late to stay for a picture.
Meeting characters at Meet & Greets is always exciting. This time, we arrived really early to the park and didn’t have to deal with hour long wait times. Cinderella was so beautiful in real life, and I was amazed at how they animated Lumiere at Story Time with Belle.
I love the effort Disney has put into allocating areas to evoke the magic of Disney Films. From Pooh’s tree house to the newly-opened Rapunzel’s tower and the Snuggly Duckling, you sometimes forget that Tomorrowland is a 10-minute walk away.
I finished my day with the wonderful Wishes fireworks show. I was amazed with the heart-shaped fireworks lighting up the sky. The park was open till 1 a.m. afterwards, but I was exhausted by the end of it.
On the way out, I felt like the luckiest girl on Earth when Minnie Mouse met Mickey Mouse.

Thanks so much Molly! I go to Disney at least every couple of years, and every time I go there are new things to see! You will be amazed at how much things have changed. The only negative part was that there is no longer Mickey and Minnie’s house in Toon Town π Devastating, since I’m a huge classic cartoon fan. Thanks for stopping by!
Could you share where you got the Minnie Mouse dress?

I think I got the dress from Forever 21, and the ears were from Disneyworld, however I’ve seen minnie mouse ears sold at the Disney Store! The necklace is either Forever 21 or a discount jewelry store I believe!
Could you also share where you got the puffy minnie ears and necklace? Lol.. It will be my daughter’s 2nd birthday and I want to dress as minnie for her π
You are amazing and have a fabulous style! If you are ever in the Miami area, I would love to Photograph you π I’m a Photographer. Thank you so very much for the tips!
