Hi I’m Natalie Ast, I live in Toronto and I started blogging in 2009. This blog started off under a different moniker, but now it represents: – Natalie Ast’s style = nataliastyle.
From 2009-2013, I attended Toronto Metropolitan University’s Journalism School, in hopes of digging my heels into fashion journalism and media. In first year of university, I started sharing my thoughts on fashion online, which grew into a blog and working in fashion media for publications such as Elle Canada and Canadian Living. After graduating from j-school, faced with an uncertain media landscape, I wanted to apply my research and writing skills, and shifted my career from journalism to law, where I attended the University of Ottawa law school. At law school, I focused on technology law and real estate courses, all while running this blog in my spare time in the peak blogger era of 2014-2017.
Currently, I work full time as a planning and municipal lawyer at a boutique firm in Toronto. I love to share style tips from a professional woman’s perspective, and deeply value the trust I have with my readers and followers, who are often young professional women themselves. I want to inspire my audience to elevate their fashion and lifestyle, while also working hard in all their career pursuits.
I cherish the relationships I’ve had with brands over the years, including Coach, Hudson’s Bay, Ted Baker and Clinique. I am grateful for all the opportunities this hobby has giving me, from partnering to cover Nordstrom’s launch in Canada, to visiting the Glamour Magazine office in NYC with Keds. While traditional blogging has evolved over the years to micro-blogging on Instagram and TikTok, I’ve maintained this little slice on the internet to showcase my style, travel and wonderful Canadian and International lifestyle brands.
As a Toronto native, I also want to make a mission of highlighting the best of what the city has to offer. I love that Toronto is a city with unique culture and fashion influences, stemming from the diverse citizens that make up our larger community. Since starting this blog in 2009, I have shifted my focus to highlighting sustainability, BIPOC and female-owned fashion brands.
In my spare time, I love to dance ballet, practice photography, and walk my dog, Madeline. I typically spend my weekends working on my flower garden at my cottage in the North Kawarthas.
xo, Natalie

Very lovely Natalie…love the dresses and heels. So you have been blogging since 2009? That is one year before Jessica Sturdy who has a fashion blogging site bows and sequins. She is based in Chicago. You might have heard of her. I think you two would hit off. ❤️??
