It’s amazing what’s in our own backyards…

Last week, I was meeting up with a friend for coffee in the annex. I wanted to take pictures in front of some old Victorian homes, but fell in love with this amazing woven gate alongside an architectural gem near Bloor and Bathurst.

I’m wearing a dog print blouse from Zara, mint shorts from Urban Planet, my mint and black chevron Rebecca Minkoff MAC bag, and jewelry from Forever 21.

I love mint, and can often wear it head to toe, but in this case the prints (in the blouse and striped bag) help break up the colour and add interest.

I love how the backdrop to these photos subverts a functional eyesore like a chain link fence into a functional work of art. It’s amazing what you can find in the backyards and laneways of Toronto, and it’s almost inspiring me to explore.
