Summer is finally here! Time to put on that bikini, but wait! Everyone is entitled to getting a new suit to make them feel fabulous and sexy. This summer, there are a lot of trends in swimwear. Kelly Etsell, marketing manager for Roxy says that their summer collection drew inspiration from a lot of places, “We are inspired by the sea and by what lies above and below the surface. Seashells, coral reefs and all the colors reflected.” Here are some of the trends, from under the sea. Read this article on 29 Secrets.
The Blues
Minty green is one of the hottest colours on land and underwater this summer. It’s cool, fresh and pairs perfectly for the beach. If you’re not a fan of the green colour that’s everywhere this summer, cobalt blue is another hot colour. Paired with a white cotton caftan and straw bag, you can echo the style of the Greek Isles. For this trend, look for suits in one saturated colour that you could find in the ombre of the Caribbean or Mediterranean sea.

Fringe it out
Etsell also mentioned that fringe and ecclectic mixing are another trend in swimwear this season. A fringed bandeau is flirty and boho at the same time. Pair it with a matching bottom, or mix it up for an even more bohemian-inspired look. This trend is about mixing textures and the fringe has a lot of movement, which can distract from a belly or add emphasis to a smaller chest.

Bandeau
The bandeau top was a big trend last season, and continues to be a popular top style this year. This style is great because it can enhance a smaller chest, while styles with underwires can also offer support for larger breasted women. You’re free to mix and match colours and patterns, but look for jewel adornments, fringe and ruffles to bring it into the new season. The best part about this style is no tanlines!

Tankini
Right behind the bandeau, the tankini is a new top style that is becoming more popular this season. When you hear the word “tankini” you think of a more mature style of bikini for those looking to cover up problem areas, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. This style is perfect for those looking for comfort and style. Sometimes a bikini top isn’t exactly practical if you’re playing in the sand with kids or challenging friends to a beach vollyball game.

Geometric & Aztec Prints
Prints are everywhere this season, aztec and graphic prints are popping up on bikinis everywhere. This trend is so easy to mix in with your favourite bottoms, or pair the suit with jean shorts for a fun, Cali-girl style. Take a cue from music festival styles and layer on the jewelry, or keep it simple for the pool.

Black & White Stripes
It’s no secret that black and white stripes is the hottest print to emerge this season. Believe it or not, stripes are in for swim too! Etsell says that effortless stripes are another trend in their summer line.
