On my last day in Paris, I went to the historic Montmartre district to see the Moulin Rouge, the most famous cabaret, in real life.
Baz Luhrmann’s lush dramatic musical is one of my favourite films. While I wanted to burst out the hight notes of “Come What May”, the tiny club on the street felt different than what was depicted in the film. Nevertheless, I dressed up in a polka dot peplum dress from H&M for the occasion.
Peplums are the hottest trend this season. They are feminine and flattering, and a very cute retro detail on any dress. I love the way it accentuates your waist, and adds a flirty flounce to any look.
The lineup was so long (even during the afternoon), and the prices so high, I opted to just enjoy the scene outside the club.
