Today, the first Apple store in the Netherlands opened up in the heart of Amsterdam. Hundreds lined up to peak into the new, gorgeous designed shop and browse all of Apple’s product lineup.
This was the store only one week before the opening. Orange window coverings concealed what was happening inside the historical Hirsch Building on Leidseplein.
While customers waited in line, coffee and even Apples were handed out to keep bellies full.

The second I stepped inside, I was awestruck by the clean, sophisticated design. I was immediately greeted by a large glass staircase that spiraled up to the second level and genius bar. The glass and spiral make the customer walk up into infinity, which reflects how Apple products have no limits in terms of creativity.
Event the potlights shine down in a circle; the stars are the limit.
Downstairs has all of Apple’s tech products. From iPhones to iPads, Apple TV to Displays. There were so many devices on display, anyone could have fun and play around. I loved how open-concept the main floor was.
And up above was a gorgeous airy skylight that let in so much natural light into the space.
Upstairs features the largest Genius Bar yet – with 20 seats and plenty of Geniuses ready to fix all your problems. I can’t even compare this to the cramped little desk in Yorkdale Mall.
The store even featured some accessories geared to Amsterdam and the Netherlands. I love that little Delft Blue iPhone case!
I had to get a picture inside the most beautiful technology store I’ve ever seen. I was so impressed with the design of the store and the friendliness of the staff. I didn’t feel overwhelmed in an Apple store, and considering this was opening day, it was nothing compared to the Eaton Centre at Christmas.
Because I was one of the first couple hundred guests, I got a little gift…
A t-shirt! Apple’dam is right. It’s a perfect souvenir blending two of my newest passions… my new MacBook Pro and my new home, Amsterdam!
Apple never skimps on their design… even the box has a sleek look to it!
